Unforgettable waterfalls have given me spiritual experiences I just never imagined I would find in nature. There is something about the sound, motion of the water, and negative ions that move me in wonderful ways.

Rivers and streams also have intense power. They bring snow melt and rain down from the mountain tops. Hiking along a river or stream is always very enjoyable. The sound of the water crashing over rocks is very relaxing.

I have been to many National Parks including Everglades, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Yosemite, Mt. Rainier, Olympic, Glacier, as well as Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park, Shenandoah, Grand Canyon, Lassen, Kings Canyon, Sequoia, Crater Lake, Redwoods, Canyonlands, Arches, Bryce Canyon, Zion and many more Monuments, State Parks and Natural Areas!

I probably forgot a few National Parks but I'll add them as I recall them.

Who Am I?

My name is Joe and I have been hiking since around 1996 from Florida to Hawaii. During that time I've discovered what gear helps in making the trip easier and more electrifying.

We could hike anywhere with little or no gear but why? The right packs, shoes and other equipment are essential for fun hiking. I review, research and recommend the best backacks and gear for hiking, travel backpacking and school.
